RIC Honors Hispanic and Latiné Heritage Month and the 2024 Theme of "Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future 在一起."
Each year, from September 15 to October 15, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month. This is a time to celebrate the achievements, 历史, 传统, and cultural diversity of Hispanic and Latiné Americans.
Honoring and Celebrating at RIC
RIC is hosting a number of events to honor Hispanic and Latiné Heritage Month. We hope that you'll participate, learn, celebrate, and enjoy with us!
2024年金砖国家拉美峰会
The 2024年拉美峰会 will bring together Latiné college students, 教师, 工作人员, and community members across Rhode Island in celebration of Hispanic and Latiné Heritage Month. 在一起, Summit participants will explore this year’s theme of "Empowering the Latiné Future" through conversations about career success, 拉丁裔问题和激进主义, and the variety of cultural experiences within the Latiné community.
This two-day event kicks off with a "treintañera"-themed networking mixer to celebrate the Unity Center turning 30 years old. Dance and meet professionals at this fun Thursday event. 在周六, get ready to learn and grow in meaningful discussions with keynote speakers Marcy Reyes, 无国界医生组织, 亚足联®, 创始人 & CEO of the FLY Initiative and José Rosario, 创始人 & CEO of The Phoenix Empowered. We will be showing the movie Encanto, with a conversation to follow about mental health stigma and how it is represented in the movie. We can also reflect on how this relates to students' own life experiences.
